Gary Grimes is a healer of Cherokee ancestry. Gary specializes in generational healing, which is a process that clears toxic emotional poisons, passed down from generation to generation. This process clears the way for the healing of disease on physical, emotional and spiritual levels. Gary works with people one-on-one in individual sessions or over time, doing generational healing work, designing and facilitating ceremony, and offering ongoing support through challenging times and transitions.

The most recognized ceremonies in our culture include birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, weddings, funerals and our own ways of celebrating traditional holidays. Ceremony is a powerful and transformative tool that supports and facilitates the challenge of incorporating any kind of life change whether it be joyful or grievous such as loss of a relationship or a job, moving into a new home, contracting or overcoming an illness. It is also a specific event and structure in time that one can refer back to whenever needed for meaning or inspiration.

Gary designs ceremonies for the individuals and groups he works with to assist them in their healing and transitions. One type of ceremony Gary designs is called a rite of passage, which symbolically represents the end of one’s own current life and a rebirth into a new life. It assists individuals in letting go of their old life, and creates an opening for new meaning and vision in their new life. It brings understanding, strength and awareness to who they are becoming. In the picture above, Gary is leading a rite of passage for a teen who is moving from adolescence into manhood.
